About
About VedicVani
VedicVani exists to make Hindu mantras, aartis, chalisas, and the Bhagavad Gita accessible — not just as text to copy, but with enough context to actually understand what you're reciting and why.
What we're building
Most people encounter a mantra or a chalisa the same way: they need the lyrics for a puja, a festival, or simply a daily practice, and they search for it online. What's often missing is everything around the lyrics — what the words actually mean, where the text comes from, what it's traditionally used for, and how to chant it correctly. That's the gap VedicVani is built to fill: every page pairs the original Sanskrit or Hindi text with a transliteration, a plain-language meaning, and practical guidance.
How content is written
Every mantra, aarti, and chalisa on this site includes the source text, a transliteration, and an explanation of meaning and significance. Where a page includes full lyrics — such as the Hanuman Chalisa — we prioritize accuracy over speed: if we can't verify a traditional text with confidence, we don't publish it. We'd rather have fewer pages that are right than more pages that might be wrong.
What's next
VedicVani is actively growing — more mantras, more deities, a complete verse-by-verse Bhagavad Gita, and eventually a full Hindi-language version of the site (see our Hindi page for progress). If there's a mantra, aarti, or chalisa you'd like to see covered, or if you spot something that needs a correction, we want to hear about it.
